Overview of CoD

Courses on Disk was founded in 1997 with the aim to make available to accountants and finance staff, low-cost high-quality training courses that would run on multimedia PCs.

The company initially developed courses on two of the UK's most popular accounts production packages, APEX for Windows and Hartley•Accountant. These were sold exclusively to practising accountants.

In September 1998 the Practice Focus group of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW) published a member report titled "A learning strategy for IT". The report's conclusion that the "lack of IT knowledge is the main reason for the low use of IT in the small business sector ", prompted Courses on Disk to develop CD-ROM training that met and exceeded the IT skills recommended in the report.

Courses have been produced for Windows, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and the Internet. More than 15,000 course sales to 5,000+ organisations is evidence of their popularity.

To this date Courses on Disk continues to specialise in producing courses for accounts and finance staff, a fact believed to make us unique.
